OUR TASK | PRESS AND INFLUENCER EXPERIENCES ACROSS EUROPE
Chalk were asked to develop and create a press showcase space for SS19. We produced a design toolkit to facilitate a consistent experience across all European regional offices and did the rollout for the Dublin HQ.
OUR CONCEPT | REFLECTIONS
This time round, we focused on building an underlying spatial identity with longevity in mind; one that could adapt fluidly to a variety of treatments over the coming seasons. We devised a “canvas” of expansive reflective mirror vinyl surfaces, bespoke birch ply geometric fittings and glassy perspex props.
For SS19, we added overlays of bold and bright fluoro graphics and signage, inspired by motels and summer road trips.

OUR CONCEPT | STAND GLORIOUS
Darkness envelops a winter wilderness. Visitors are immersed in a rich raw industrial environment. The space channels female strength and the bold power of modern heroines. Ancient mysticism breathes an otherworldly force into the sensory atmosphere.
OUR DELIVERY | RICH RAW WINTER WILDERNESS
For AW18, we created a space using deep warm charcoal tones, concrete slab, tactile fringed curtain and white light boxes. This mix of luxe and industrial textures was illuminated dreamy soft lighting and dry-ice mists.
Bespoke tarot card readings, a live DJ set and a menu of dark chocolate and charcoal and black sesame snacks enhanced the experience.

The Ornua flagship HQ showcases the Ornua story - including its values, its people and its commitment to quality, provenance and innovation - in a warm and contemporary way.
OUR DELIVERY
Natural materials and original artwork, along with clear, simple messaging aim to surprise and educate visitors, while providing employees with a workplace that reflects Ornua’s culture. Direct quotes from Ornua members and customers communicate the brand’s meaning, while tactile infographics explain the big picture in a digestible and interesting way.

OUR CONCEPT | DELUXE DESTINY
A cinematic exploration of futuristic regality. Be transported to another world; one that is dark but dreamy, rich but electric. This is Deluxe Destiny.
OUR DELIVERY | FUTURISTIC OPULENCE
For AW17, we created an immersive experience of light and dark; a mood that integrated arthouse, sci-fi and opulence.
With a nod to a gallery exhibition space, a single long line of statement rails crossed through the centre of the location. Long fluorescent tube lights in red and fuchsia framed rails and highlighted hero items. Colour was created in the room largely by lighting effects and window vinyl treatment where deep rich reds and purples were pierced with fluoro pinks and oranges.
To bring further opulence to the location, our specialised catering partners served glossy mirror cakes from a decadent dessert trolley .

OUR CONCEPT | ELEVATE THE ORDINARY TO THE EXTRAORDINARY
Kerrygold is all about respect for nature, traditional values, Irish land and its people, and taste. We played with scale and abstracted visual cues from nature and the brand to create a warm, gallery style experiential exhibition.

Content and artefact curation and copywriting. Plinths, infographics, storytelling. Nature installations to communicate Ireland’s climate as a key contributor to the Kerrygold brand. 3D bespoke laser-cut clover wallpaper in waiting area. Bespoke commissioned hedgerow tapestry table as a focal point for the workshop space. Production of a brand story booklet.

To create a series of window installations to launch and promote an innovation centre for a semi-state. We aimed to develop a visual statement to provoke interest in the passerby and to communicate the launch of a new space for collective thought and creativity.

Neon signage presents the “Make Room for Thought” statement in the organisation’s brand colours. The aesthetic is contemporary gallery.
High Speed camera footage displays the slow motion dispersion of ink in water, representing the development of a new thought.

To develop and create an intimate dinner experience for press and influencers to showcase Primark's AW17 homeware collection. We produced a design toolkit to facilitate a consistent experience across all European regional offices.
OUR CONCEPT | HYGGE
We designed this press experience around the Hygge trend which was strongly reflected in the stock being showcased. This experience was all about an amazing dinner in an intimate setting.
The quality of the food was absolutely paramount. Food was seasonal, local and treated with the utmost care.
Green foliage, wooden furnishings, warm sheepskin and cool colour tones created a laid back and cosy vibe. Spacious arrangements of curated stock allowed guests to casually browse the various homeware ranges. Areas in the space created small vignettes of a life lived allowing the products tell a story.

Summer Days go on and on. Work. Rest. Play. Party. Repeat. Goodbye cosy comfies. Hello bold choices and showing off.
OUR DELIVERY | ALL I WANT IS EVERYTHING
For SS17, we designed the press experience around a super-long, custom-made, glossy, flowing, curvilinear, elevated path. Circular mirrors and graphics showcased hero items.
Holographic silver vinyl, white neon light, luxe blocks of perspex and mirror, birch and marble ensured a premium look and feel.
We used bespoke lighting projections to simulate prism effects on white walls. We created a kaleidoscope with a mirrored interior that held an ipad displaying lookbook imagery. The imagery reflected and created an interesting visual experience for guests.
Coral and goldfish in crystal clear bowls added freshness and fun, and our specialised catering partners made ice-cream rolls, bringing more visual interest and summertime vibes into our location.
OUR TASK | GOODIE BAGS FOR PRESS AND INFLUENCER EXPERIENCES ACROSS EUROPE
We designed and produced branded notebooks, pencils and stickers to reflect the SS17 experience we created for Primark.
We used luxe holographic foil on recycled grey board with exposed spine binding. Giftcards, silver pencils and notebooks were packed in super shiny bubble bags with dusty pink stickers.
Full production, creative direction, styling and propping.
We created an identity for Roller, a blowdry bar in the heart of Grand Canal Dock.
As part of this, we did full production and styling of an editorial style shoot to showcase Roller's menu of beautiful looks.
We designed and produced their print media suite, bags and uniforms too.
OUR TASK | BACK TO SCHOOL KIDSWEAR PROMOTIONAL GIFT-PACKS FOR PRESS AND INFLUENCERS ACROSS EUROPE
To develop and create a gift to be mailed to Primark's European regions. The core idea in the brief was about encouraging kids to be "Schoolyard Heroes".
OUR DELIVERY | BE A SCHOOLYARD SUPERHERO!
We created a bespoke star-chart with a comic-book aesthetic. Kids use the bright vinyl stickers to fill their chart as they learn or do each quest. At the end, they get a Schoolyard Superhero badge to wear.

OUR CONCEPT | OUR CITIES ARE OUR PLAYGROUNDS
We played with the bold graphic layouts and structures of contemporary playgrounds, and mixed these with muted colours and natural wood.

Display fixtures were influenced by playground structures. Subtle colour tones balanced the playfulness of the space with sophistication. Feature displays showcased hero items. Wall and window vinyl treatments portrayed an abstract take on city maps. Press gifts and custom screen-printing experience.
OUR TASK | GIFTWORTHY CALENDARS FOR ORNUA STAFF AND CUSTOMERS
To develop and create calendars for part of Ornua's corporate Christmas gift package.
OUR CONCEPT | NATURAL IS BEST
We used elements of the identity developed for The Kerrygold Experience to design these desktop calendars. We curated facts about Ornua and the Irish Dairy Industry and used metallic ink, heavy card stock and birch wood blocks to communicate the natural luxury of the brand.
OUR TASK | CORPORATE GIFTS FOR MILAN
We were asked to devise and deliver some covetable gifts to Milan.
OUR DELIVERY | IRISH CERAMIC ESPRESSO POTS
Our idea was to gift a little symbol of Irish/Italian integration, so we collaborated with a small Irish ceramic producer to create customised espresso pots. Gifts were personalised with laser-cut notecards.
OUR TASK | CHRISTMAS WINDOWS
These windows were all about celebrating Christmas and championing Irish food.
OUR DELIVERY | FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD
We created a modern Christmas dinner spread with added character and personality. Oversized handmade paper sculptures of Christmas foods - and a friendly turkey knocking everything over - were suspended over a contemporary dinner table graphic. A stop motion video added dynamism to the display to help catch the eye of every passerby.
OUR TASK: CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT AND EVENT THAT CELEBRATES SUMMER AT THE MARKER
OUR CONCEPT: THE MARKER GARDEN PARTY
We created a rooftop garden party for 300 social influencers. We used experiential installations to bring a unique summer flavour, including a sensor driven natural wood pouring pod, which bowed and poured attendees drinks. We brought the outside in with succulents, suspended plants and glass plant pods in bars and bathrooms.

OUR CONCEPT: NEW YORK LOFT APARTMENT STYLE
We created a loft apartment environment with a sunlight installation. Custom lighting flooded through window decals to cast natural, apartment style shadows. We used retro furniture and interesting merchandising techniques to further the luxe at-home feel. We did creative direction, production, and styling & prop design, along with the invite.
